Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday today! This has been a stressful quarter of college for me, so it was nice to see all the birthday messages pop up on my page. I had a good time celebrating with my real-life friends, and I'll be celebrating with my family in the next few days.
Other people I share a birthday with:
Bill Nye the Science Guy, and
Gilbert Strang, the author of my linear algebra textbook
Winter break is two weeks away, and I'll get about a month off. I have a lot of unfinished sketches I'll be finishing up then. Some of them are OCs and some of them aren't. I promised to draw a fanfic cover for someone, so if I don't finish that this weekend, I'll be finishing that then too.
Regarding art, I'm going to branch out a bit. I'll start practicing some comics and other sequential art. I'll also start drawing stuff besides ponies: superheroes, furry/anthro characters, etc. The only way to get better at drawing is to draw lots of things, and lately I've been drawing only horsethings. This means I'm bad at drawing anything that doesn't look like a horse, and especially bad at drawing anything that kind of looks like people. But don't worry! I'll keep drawing epic flying laser unicorns too.
And regarding my comic project - I should finally be able to start! I have the plot, the characters, and the art skills, and I know enough web programming to put up a decent website for it. I've even bought web hosting, so everything is ready. Now all I need is the time.
Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving!
