The Apple Soldier by SeeNotC The Apple Soldier by SeeNotC
:icontwilightsparkleplz: I'm not going to fight you, Applejack! You're my friend!
:iconapplejackplz: You're my mission.

I'm almost sad I'm done with this one. I was having a lot of fun working on it. ~20 hours over the course of several weeks.

For any of you that haven't seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Winter Soldier is the main bad guy that Captain America has to fight. He has a metal arm with a red star on it. So of course, I had to make the Apple Soldier... starring Applejack!

Regarding filters, I don't really know what "mature content" means anymore. Just let me know if you're offended.

Sounds kind of like my character Lazerhorse. Lazerhorse is a sci-fi anthro horse with a ridiculously oversized laser rifle.

That looks freaking amazing! How long did this take you?

Thanks for the watch! I didn't time myself, but somewhere between 15 and 20 hours. I never worked on it for more than three hours at a stretch, though. It started as a sketch, and I just kept adding stuff and making it more elaborate until it felt done. That's the advantage of working in ridiculously large canvas sizes--you can keep zooming in to add whatever you want.

Your welcome! 15-20 hours?! It must have been exhausting ^^; When I do my sketches, it usually takes me 5-10 minutes :) Well, that was before I started shading my characters. Now that I'm adding BG to my drawings, it takes me longer XD The one I just uploaded took about 2-3 days :D

I wouldn't say it was exhausting, but I did get tired of working on it. And sometimes you reach a point where you can't really see your mistakes anymore and you don't know what to do next, because you've been looking at it too long. The best thing to do then is to take a break for a couple days and come back to it later.

I used to do a lot of black and white sketches like that. They usually took me between 45 minutes and two hours.
